When Salik was first introduced, vehicles were charged for up to six trips per day, with a maximum of AED 24. Any trips beyond the sixth were free.However, in 2013, the RTA removed this cap, so now you're charged for every trip through a Salik gate, regardless of how many times you pass in a day, with no Salik maximum charge per day.
The cost to charge Salik depends on how often you pass through toll gates. If you go through two gates, your costs will double.You can pick up the tag for AED 100 at EPPCO/ENOC, Emarat, or ADNOC petrol stations. If you choose to order it online, there's an extra AED 20 delivery fee. Just keep in mind that online orders are only available for UAE-registered vehicles with private or motorcycle plates.The good news is that there’s no 5% VAT on Salik services!
